The Search for Initiation

The path of initiation is older than time — and it can be approached formally through ceremony, or informally through the process of living. By now, most of us know that life is one long initiation process and every experience holds a valuable lesson. In his October article Steve reminds us that in learning those lessons and meeting every single one of our private tests, we open the space for the world to change.

John's contributions to the Spirit of Ma'at have given us so many great things to think about. Before he left on the New Zealand journey we asked him to take notes, knowing that he always tells a good story. At the end of the trip we received the article that you're about to read, expecting it to be a rundown of what happened, or an overview of what was going on. Instead, John sent us an extremely personal story that was part of his own initiation and growth process during his stay in New Zealand. It speaks loudly to the idea that we are all One on so many different levels and in so many different ways, whether we know it or not, all of us are eternally connected by bonds that outlive the dictates of time and Karma.

The New Zealand journey was one of those trips that put a lot of people through the ringer. Reports that came back through various individuals reflected the difficulty we all seem to have when it comes to taking ownership of our experience. From Chaos to Harmony

Underneath it all, the message seems to be that animals understand unity consciousness and unconditional love and acceptance way better than we do. The Lost Article

This essay was written back in February 2009. It got lost in the 'writers shuffle' and Cal forgot all about it until it surfaced among a pile of papers that had to be sorted out. When she first wrote this piece she was processing stuff that made her wonder how to reconcile the imminence of a dimensional shift with goals and plans that don't seem to mean much in the face of it. At the time she wasn't quite sure whether her words would ring true, but after nine months it seems as if many of us are now feeling the same way Cal did when she wrote them down.
