Letter from the editor

Letter from the editor

It’s been a crazy month. As I sit down to write this letter I don’t know
where to start. I had a heart attack on July 31st, and have been feeling a little
fragile ever since. Getting back to normal has involved re-evaluating
everything in my life – including my role as the Editor of the Spirit of Ma’at.

Our new format went live around the same time my heart kicked out. It’s been
interesting sitting here, recuperating on the sidelines, fielding the responses
and listening to the feedback we’ve received with regard to the magazines’ ‘all new
look’. To those of you who have made a point to let us know how you feel, we too
are blown away by how beautiful it looks and we are just as excited about making
everything about the new site, work better.

As far as our September issue goes: to tell you the truth, between my heart and
all the changes that have occurred since we began dreaming it up, my original plan
vanished under a pile of other considerations. The fact that the magazine even
got posted this month, feels like a small miracle to me.

As the web team makes it their aim to create an ever-more user friendly
webzine, my aim as the Editor in Chief will be to uphold our mission statement
and preserve the quality, the depth, and the relevance of the information that
we publish from month to month. I figure if we can keep the inner workings of
the magazine alive and well, and continue to serve as a resource for truthful
information, the Spirit of Ma’at will be around to keep us sane, centered, and
whole through the changes that line the path to the 2012 Winter Solstice -
and beyond.

It’s good to be alive – thank you all for being there

It is a privilege to serve you.

With Love, and Gratitude.

Cal Garrison
Editor in Chief at the “Spirit of Ma’at”
