Letter from the editor
As we get closer to the 2012 Winter Solstice it is beginning to hit me that the year is a little more than a month away from its long prophesied climax. In the face of this, I have made the decision to slow down. It just doesn’t make sense to do anything but turn off the treadmill and get back in touch with what’s basic.
No I am not a survivalist; neither am I an apocalyptic fanatic. This is more about me thinking that if the universe is in a state of unprecedented change, it might be good to stop and give myself a chance to really feel this, in my heart and in my bones – because as much as I am sure that the world will go right on spinning once we pass the 21st of December, I am just as sure that life as we know it will never be the same. And whatever that introduces us to, individually and collectively, anyone who’s paying attention can see that those new and different frequencies are already here, etching themselves into our consciousness.
If there was ever any thought about what the theme for our November issue might be, it had everything to do with what it means to see far enough into the shadows to identify the possibilities that life holds when it meets the point where absolutely everything is on the line. All of us are being called to wake up, in our own way, in our own time. As we move through the month of November could we use this trip through the ‘Shadowland’ to slow down enough to ground the full impact of changes that only come around once every 25,000 years?
I hope that this month’s magazine reminds you to think of your place in the bigger picture, and I hope that it gives you a way to connect with things that help you to see, and know, and understand a little bit more about the realm of potential that fills the seemingly dark and empty space that lines the path to the 2012 Winter Solstice
With love and light,
