Knowing When It's Time To Meander - and doing it gracefully

Story by: Phoenix Rising Star

I was so frustrated with everything!

I have tons of manifesting techniques in my back pocket. They all work.

At least, they did, until now.

All of a sudden, nothing worked.

I was asking for opportunities in alignment with my soul purpose.  To me that meant more opportunities for teaching, for offering self-healing techniques, for helping clients understand and achieve their soul purpose.

I thought I was in alignment with my soul purpose.  I thought I was right where I needed to be.  I just needed more opportunities.

That’s what I thought.

When none of my manifesting techniques worked, I had to take another look at what was going on.  As I meditated on my situation, I realized two things.

One, I was not out of alignment with my soul purpose.  I am in alignment with my soul purpose.

Two, it was just time to meander.

The full realization of this hit me when I was flying across country. As I looked down on a river, I could see where the course of it had changed.  Sand was moved up on one side, forcing the river to move to the other side.   Frequently.  The river still flowed. It still moved. It was doing what it was supposed to do.  It was just doing it differently.

Of course!  Everyone knows that rivers change course over time.  Situations such as floods or droughts create change.  Force of movement, fast or slow, creates change.  Change is natural. Change is inevitable.  Why does it take me so long to realize this in my own life and accept it?

So as I began to look at my own river of life, I could see where I had meandered many times before.  Quitting a conventional job, changing my location, opening to new relationships, creating my heart’s desires at the time…….

These were large meanderings. Large life changes.  I’ve had many small meanderings also.  I think everyone has.  Here is what I have learned about knowing when it’s time to meander, and how to meander gracefully.

First, there are always signposts that tell you what’s coming. They begin very subtly, such as a slight decrease in what has always worked, is accustomed or familiar.

How this manifests may include fewer numbers of clients, fewer sales or things attributed to the downturn of the economy, lack of communication, lack of desire, lack of anything, etc.

There’s a tendency to ignore or deny the signpost, or to excuse it with an obvious factor such as the time of year, time of month, temporary situations, etc.  Only as the signposts become larger and more numerous, do we begin to pay attention.

Second, our previous experiences with change dictate how we react to the current opportunity.  Cellular memory imprints from our successes and non-successes feed our thoughts, emotions, and even physical reactions.  If we’ve experienced success, we will feel optimistic and excited about possible change.  If we’ve experienced anything less than success, we may feel distress, disempowerment, and even fear. Healing pessimistic cellular memory imprints helps focus our energy toward positive change.  Self-talk, hypnosis, Integrated Energy Therapy®, and other modalities all work with cellular memory.  And clearing old stuff is an important part of the creation process.  One can’t create the new if the old is still around.

Third, you don’t have to know where you’re going, so long as you know you’re on your way.  Does the river stop in the middle of a meander and say, “Hey!  I can’t go forward!  I don’t know where I’m going!” No, it just keeps going.

Changing and creating.

We may not know exactly what change is ahead for us, but when we focus on what we choose, not what we don’t choose, we are more likely to achieve what we desire.

This is also why it’s important to heal any cellular memory that might keep us in fear and prevent us from co-creating our perfect reality.

Fourth, are we there yet?  Life is a process just as the river is a constant flow.  Life doesn’t stop because you change, whether you have achieved your heart’s desires or not.  Life keeps going.  The river meanders.  If you don’t like what you have created, change it deliberately. Don’t wait for the signpost to say you HAVE to change.  Take charge and co-create with the divine. This is your experience.  Make it a good one.  Meander gracefully.

Fifth and last, intend to meander gracefully.  Anything that promotes energy flow will help.  Get the urge to purge.  Let go, throw away, give away. Clean.  Do yoga.  Try an internal herbal cleanse.  Stick your feet in moving water.  Take a drive or a walk.  Do something different.  All this movement helps to continue the energetic shift.  Keep a smile on your face.  Love in your heart.  Be in a state of gratitude.  Intend this or something better.

And when you find yourself revisiting old cellular memory that doesn’t serve, repeat the above.

May your meanders be filled with grace and ease.
