November 2012 - 'The Shadowland' Edition
The days that connect the Day of the Dead with the Advent revels are filled by the month of November. On the surface there is nothing noteworthy about this stretch of time - until you dig deep enough to see that it is the wormhole that ushers us into the Shadowland that fills the space between the death of one cycle, and the birth of another. In this zone we are 'Out of Time'. Within that timelessness the creation process enters a void where nothing appears to be going on; or so it seems. All things emerge out of nothingness. In this season that has always been associated with the meat harvest and the blood rituals, the 'death of all things' invokes the life force at the point where 'what will happen next' begins to emerge from the shadows. In this year of all years, no one needs to remind us that we are at a pivotal moment in time. For anyone who understands that the heart of humanity has something to say about what happens next, as we pass through this 'Shadowland', what would happen if we took everything we knew and used it to usher all of who we are to the threshold of what is yet to be? With the 2012 Winter Solstice right around the corner this is something to think about. It is with that thought in mind that we welcome you to our 'Shadowland' edition. May everything you find in this month's issue remind you to open your heart and let it stir the desire to dispel the darkness and bring your light to bear on the vision of a new and better world.
