Neptune “the Redeemer” strives to return to the undifferentiated waters of the womb.
After last month’s Mercury retrograde changed from Pisces into Aquarius, we felt the emotional confusion of Pisces, only to followed by the turbulence of Aquarius, as if we are now drifting in an endless sea. However, on March 1st, Mercury goes direct and the new moon in Pisces can open us up to intuitive dreams and personal understandings that well up from a deeper part of the world and ourselves.
Neptune is represented in the Tarot by the card The Hanged Man. This card symbolizes the suspended mind, and the Hebrew letter “Mem,” which means water. The man in this card is hanging upside down with a rope loosely hooked around his foot. From this position, the world can be viewed differently, just as you would look at a reflected (or reversed) image in a pond. Now is the time to take a step back and see things differently in order to bring in change into our lives and others. With Mars in Libra, and Saturn in Scorpio, both retrogrades provide us with the opportunity to slow down, to take time to breathe, and initiate balance in our lives.
This month will be an emotional one with Mercury in Pisces, in addition to having Jupiter in Cancer
to expand our sense of compassion to those we love and our communities. Remember to take time out to recharge yourself on March 20th, the vernal equinox, so that on March 21st you will feel motivated for a new beginning. This year’s Aries new moon has teamed up with unpredictable Uranus. Will these movements bring adventure or conflict? It is all in how you see the reflected image in reverse.
