New Age Nutrition: Healing the Body to Free the Spirit
When most people think of a nutritionist, they think of a person who educates others on diet, weight loss, and healthy eating. However, today’s nutritionist has evolved into so much more. As Eastern medicine has combined with Western medicine, the spiritual aspect of healing has begun to coalesce with the science of nutrition. A growing number of people are seeking out nutritionists not just for advice on diet but for more serious health complaints ranging from fatigue, digestive problems, autoimmune conditions and even emotional issues brought on by stress of the fast-paced modern day life.
Spiritualists know that we can heal our bodies through energy work alone, such as unblocking energy flow or changing a belief we have about ourselves that manifests as a physical ailment. Louise Hay, author of the bestselling book “You Can Heal Your Body” states, “If you can change your thoughts, almost anything can be healed. Figuring out the true source of your pain can be the key to healing your mind and your body.” This is very true and has been proven thousands of times by physicians and spiritualists alike. However, what about the people who have tried to change their thoughts, or even been to energy workers and nothing or very little has happened? Are they just not trying hard enough?
For some of these people I feel there is a piece that is missing on their journey to health. A bridge, so to speak, that will help them get from the mindset of pain and suffering to actually believing they CAN heal their bodies. This is where the “New Age Nutritionist” comes into play. The body is a vehicle for our spirit. However, sometimes the vehicle is so damaged that it needs some tender loving care before the spirit can even connect to it. In other words, we are able to figure out what the body needs in order to bring it back into balance through precise testing using nutritional science so the spirit can begin to take over and complete the healing process.
Highly sensitive testing can detect the smallest imbalances in our digestive system, adrenals, and neurotransmitters. We can detect toxicities and food intolerances that may be poisoning the body and even genetic flaws that cripple the intricate workings of our metabolism. Our bodies were created with an inherent ability to heal itself when given the right tools. With this knowledge we can then recommend the proper supplements and foods that will help the body come back into balance. Yet, as we know, food and supplements aren’t the only tools needed to repair the damage.
The most important undertaking in this field and what makes this new brand of nutritionist so special is that while we are supporting the body of our clients, we are also connecting with their spirit. Listening to them. Understanding them. Giving them a new point of view and most importantly, giving them hope. This is where the spirit is then set free and can finish the work of the supplements to heal the body and mind. I’ve watched many patients go from barely being able to get out of bed to starting a new career, going on to college and even finding the love of their life. To many patients, their nutritionist becomes their rock. The one person who believes in them and will never give up on them, even if other doctors have.
This is the work of the “New Age Nutritionist.” We are the bridge; that one missing piece that can help those who are searching for someone to heal their bodies, to reconnect their body and spirit and carry them to new heights.
