Letter from the editor
Welcome to February! With Valentine energies heating up in the background, I am at a loss for words. For the first time in a long time, I can’t turn the annual celebration of hearts into an excuse to make light of my tribulations in the love department. Those days are gone. Ever since the universe slipped into a whole new gear, as far as love goes, I feel like I am “In it”, all of the time.
Intoxicated by a deep sense of unity and connection, my fears have finally been displaced by the kind of light that allows me to embrace the dark end of the spectrum as well.
“Being conscious and enlightened is not just about focusing totally on the positive things in life. In order to fully awaken, we must first be aware of all of the darkness in humanity — including within our own psyches.”
At the point where it all becomes the same, the love that we feel is what opens the space for us to include the harsher truths in our examinations, knowing that those things have never been what they seem.
As the waters of life stir beneath her surface, the heart of Mother Earth will spend the next 28 days opening herself to a rebirth. This is more than just a metaphor. It is the real thing; and the real thing is a little different this year.
Who can say how the Goddess will deliver us into the realm of unity consciousness? If love is the operative word, and this is ultimately “Our Baby”, the bigger question might be: what can we bring to the delivery table? How can we use this new wave of consciousness to enlighten our visions for a new and better world?
“It’s time for humanity to wake up and take responsibility for what we are doing here. Change is not going to come from without — it will only come from within the hearts of each individual. The only legitimate meaning of “raising our vibration” is to stop operating on the basis of fear, and start living on the basis of love for humanity and the Earth.”
With that thought in mind, my Mid-Winter prayer goes out to the life that returns when the stillness that fills the womb of creation stirs the great void with the power of love.
Happy Valentine’s Day
With Love to you all,
