If I didn’t work for Drunvalo my life would be a lot simpler – but it wouldn’t be half as interesting. There’s something about spinning around inside his orbit that amplifies and intensifies everything. If I had to put my finger on it I would say that it feels like I live in the eye of a storm.

For the last month or so, one lesson after another has reminded me that the spiritual path is not for sissies. Reflecting upon what it takes to walk one’s talk, I see that none of us are immune to the deceptions of the ego when it decides to put on a spiritual mask. A monster to begin with, in a realm where it is persona non grata, and where the concept of boundaries does not even compute, once the ego slips into that world it gets away with murder. Yes – periodic reality checks are mandatory; there is no other way to remain connected to the truth in this neck of the woods.

How do we monitor ourselves in situations where our primary issues start wagging the dog that was supposed to be filled with nothing but unconditional love and light? When we become oblivious to the fact that we are delusional, who is there to remind us that true vigilance always involves coming to terms with the fact that we are lying to ourselves? Anyone who pretends to be a spiritually driven person has to know how to go to the place that is absolutely willing to tell it like it is.

Thoughts like this have prompted me to wonder where I stand with myself. Years of whatever it took to get here have shown me how easy it is for people to get carried away by whoever they think they are. Every morning I wake up and pray to God that I won’t fall into that trap because once we’re in it, the lies that we tell to ourselves have a way of devouring the truth in a way that disallows any connection to Spirit.

The longer I hang around in this neck of the woods the more I see that if we could just keep it simple enough to remain in the moment, fully embodied and fully aware, in no time at all we would come to understand that we are channels for light – nothing more, nothing less – and if all we do is keep the light on, the lines open, and the heart clear no matter where we are, no matter what we are doing, we are fulfilling our purpose.

On this beautiful summer day, with the glorious brilliance of the Sun God shining out from the heart of creation, may all of us who seek to know the way be blessed with the wisdom to see the truth, and find the strength to hold it safely in a place of love, clear and centered in the single eye of the heart.

With love to all of you,
