The Connection with Mother Earth; the Connection with Ourselves
“…. At one period of the earth’s history there was a kind of ‘earthly paradise,’ in the sense that there was a perfectly harmonious and perfectly natural life: the manifestation of Mind was in accord – was still in complete accord – and in total harmony with the ascending march of Nature, without perversion or deformation. This was the first stage of Mind’s manifestation in material forms.” (The Mother’s “Agenda”, Vol 2)
Years ago when I was a child, together with my cousins I used to walk barefoot each day on the dirt. I remember each evening my grandma warming water for us to wash our feet. One day one of my cousins told her, “Grandma, we are going to have our shoes today, it is too much dirt on our feet.” My grandma looked at him, smiled and gave him a very short answer: “It is worth it.”
Later, I understood that it’s not just worth it, but it is everything. Literally everything; without this dirt and the barefoot exercise we are completely lost, disconnected, isolated and cut off by our reservoir of energy and vitality.
Unquestionably, Clint Ober, the author of “Earthing” one of the most important books written to date, is right: if we don’t connect each day with Mother Earth for at least half an hour, then we might get in big trouble.
Going further, Anastasia, the great Siberian Master, said something even more important: if we create a connection with Mother Earth, touching her, taking care of her, speaking with her, cleaning her, sleeping outside and taking care of all that is connected with her (plants, animals, fish and so on) then we create a “space of love”. In this “space of love” all that is there assists your evolution here on this planet.
Six years ago, I did the Anastasia ‘ “seeds experiment”. I kept each group of organic seeds under my tongue so the seeds “learned” my body requests and needs and after that I planted them in my garden. I would spend at least four to five hours per day there. I meditated and spoke with the earth, walked barefoot, giving love and energy to the seeds and Mother Earth. When the tomatoes, green beans and green peppers were ready, I would eat them in the middle of the garden being grateful and appreciative for the plants and Mother Earth.
Health Issues that I had at that time disappeared completely. The plants “learned” my health problems and developed just for the needs of my body, the necessary antidote to heal it! They created a “space of love”.
Anastasia was right: Mother Earth loves us beyond our understanding. She gave us everything including these bodies. Obviously we have biological parents, but we do have divine parents: divine Mother Earth and divine Father Universe (Sun).
However, the connection with Mother Earth begins inside of us. I have seen numerous people preaching the cleaning, care and protection of Mother Earth but unfortunately do the opposite. Mother Earth doesn’t need that. She needs us to be in our hearts and live in peace and love. The care of Mother Earth is supposed to be a normal, day-to-day activity. It is not something special. It is something natural.
Both Anastasia and The Mother (Mirra Alfassa), in her famous “Agenda”, speak about a time when we were really connected with Mother Earth. We were so connected that all our needs were supplied to us spontaneously and naturally.
Whenever I walk barefoot, I meditate or do tai chi. I always have a clear recollection of the time when we were in such harmony with nature, with animals and birds, and with all that surrounds us – Mother Earth and Father Sky.
I remember who we really were – perfect conscious creators together with Divinity.
I also remember the perfect symbiosis and interaction with heaven and earth. I see, sense, feel and know that all of us can feel that interaction too. It is in us, in our memories and in our hearts. I am conscious that we are able to be again in that. I smile and remember the last words of Yogananda: “Where Ganges, woods, Himalayan caves, and men dream God—I am hallowed; my body touched that sod”.
