Announcement - "REAL TIME ASTROLOGY" with Cal Garrison

In the nine months that have passed since Cal Garrison retired from her post as the editor at the “Spirit of Ma’at,” she has been hard at work, bringing a life-long dream to fruition. It’s been a while since we’ve had a chance to catch up with Cal, but she popped in last week to say hello and to tell us that she has just given birth to her new brain-child.

We are happy to announce that Cal Garrisons REAL TIME School of Astrology” is now available online. Her first seminar is awesome and is being delivered in a series of videos that focus on the role that the Moon plays in the horoscope. This first class is open to all and is being offered “Free of Charge.“ It can be accessed at the following link:

For those of you who want to know a little bit more about what Cal had in mind when she set out on this path, we invite you to read the following press release and consider taking part in a unique and enlightening opportunity to study astrology with a woman who knows it, from the inside out:

Bi-Monthly Courses in the Art of Astrology and Horoscope Interpretation

Cal Garrison began studying astrology in 1964. Sixteen years old at the time, by the time she turned 20 she was totally hooked. Four years later, in 1972, the circumstances that brought her to Charles Jayne’s astrology classes wound up forming the foundation for a career that has held steady since that time.

Her apprenticeship with Charles took place over a period of two years in weekly pow-wows at his home in Monroe, New York. One of the foremost technical astrologers on the planet, it was Charles and his wife, Vivia, who taught Cal the basics and gave her a solid background in the fundamentals of horoscope erection and chart interpretation.

At the end of her time with the Jayne’s, Charles left her with these words: “The only way to be a good astrologer is to do it. Go out and see what you can do.” What came out of that led Cal to spend a year doing charts for free, just to get the experience. At the end of one year she began to charge a nominal fee for all of her work because she couldn’t keep up with the demand for readings and continue with her day job. It was during this period that she began to ply her trade while working as a bartender, casting charts and reading cards for the fisherman and the characters who frequented the taverns and the back streets of Gloucester, Massachusetts.

Astrology is easier to get a handle on when you’re dealing with extremes. Working in the trenches gave Cal the opportunity to see it all – and what this taught her is that all of us have our own story and none of us are spared when it comes to getting right with the lessons that we agreed to master during our time here on Earth. Over 45 years of exposure to people from all walks of life have endowed Cal with an “Astrological School of Hard Knocks” education that loan her interpretations high levels of wisdom and more than the usual amount of empathy and compassion for all of her clients.

Cal’s wish to bring what she knows out into the world comes from a desire to give back a little of what Charles and Vivia Jayne gave to her, back in 1972. Her “REAL TIME ASTROLOGY” series will be of interest to anyone who is curious about astrology and wants to hear about it from someone who knows what they’re talking about. These bi-monthly courses get to the heart of chart interpretation in a way that can only be described as ‘uniquely Cal.’ Each class is  appropriate for students of all levels, but they are best suited for those of you who have already mastered the basics of Sign, House, Planet, and Aspect identification.

We invite you to explore this unique opportunity. Astrology is a subject that can’t be learned exclusively from books. Because it is also a subject that  has been vilified ever since the Inquisition drove it underground, it is difficult to access its deeper secrets, or be privy to anything but a superficial understanding of the art. If we have heard more about it in the last 50 years, it’s because the time has come to resurrect the remembrance of things long forgotten and use that wisdom to create a new and better world.

The world has changed. Much that once was, is lost for none now live who remember it
