This summer, I made a trip north to visit the spectacular Antelope Canyon. If you are not familiar with the name, be sure to check out some images online as it’s truly a sight to behold. It is located on Navajo land, east of Page, Arizona near the border of Utah. It is predominantly formed by erosion due to yearly flash flooding and is comprised of Navajo Sandstone that shines a brilliant red hue around the entire region. The road to the canyon entrance is gated by the Navajo Nation and entry is restricted to guided tours led by authorized tour guides only. Luckily, I was able to tag along on a tour that was not entirely reserved, but since the canyon is so famous, I would make sure to have a reservation in advance. Be sure to bring cash for any parking fees and a tip for your guide!

In this month’s issue, I recommend checking out Carl Franz’s article, paying special attention to the painting included as it was created by Carl himself.

One of our longtime contributors, Martin Gray, has compiled a list of questions he’s found online which I find to be interesting food for thought for self-reflection, or even potential conversation topics.

Questions to ask yourself (and other people too)

  • What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
  • How have you grown and changed over time?
  • How will you make this world a better place than when you came into it?
  • If time travel were possible, would you do it? Would you go forward or backward in time?
  • If someone attempted to capture you in a single photo, what would be happening in it?
  • What does being successful mean to you?
  • If you had a magic wand what would it do?
  • What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
  • What is your biggest challenge in life?
  • What’s holding you back?
  • Who is your mentor?
  • What are you most passionate about?
  • On a scale of 1 to 10, how happy are you with your life? What would make it a 10?
  • What’s the most significant thing you’ve done in your life?
  • Name three things that drive you crazy.
  • If you were not afraid of failing, what would you try today?
  • What compliment would make you feel the happiest at this point in your life?
  • If you could be the best in the world at one thing, what would it be?
  • Who are you when no one is watching?
  • If you could make a 30 second speech to the entire world, what would you say?
  • If you were going to die at midnight, what would you be doing at 11:45pm?
  • What do you believe stands between you and complete happiness?
  • What would your closest, lifelong friend be able to say accurately at the end of your life?
  • If you could call yourself five years ago and had 30 seconds, what would you say?
  • What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
  • What would you do with your time if you could afford to quit your job?
  • What are your greatest regrets, and what might you change about them if you could?
  • What are you pretending not to know?
  • What has been your main motivation in life so far?
  • Would you like yourself if you meet you?

Blessings,
