We summon the light into our eyes as we awaken becoming the ConsciousDreamer
The Sun – ruler of Leo, a fire sign – reminds us of its vibrant and truth-seeking nature as well as the power of love’s creativity. When the Sun begins its journey to the top of the sky he lets in the daylight to burn off moisture which forms clouds that burst into thunder, and the rain starts to fall and nourish the earth. Just as in the Greek myths where Apollo learns to direct the powerful solar rays, this month we are learning to direct our own energy and discover how we become a reflector of this light from within.
Leo symbolizes the 5th stage in man’s development. It is the 5th house in the zodiac, a house of love and creativity and identification with society. Aries, being the 1st stage of self discovery, Taurus, the 2nd stage of what is of value, Gemini, 3rd stage of communication, and Cancer, the 4th stage of family and home – this month’s journey with Leo begins with courage and a quest for truth. We can hear the roar of the lion as the authority. Venus moves into Leo on August 14th along with the Moon-Mars-Saturn trio that will bring powerful insights that are full of energy to act on. On August 21st the Cancer Moon connects with Mars, and the wheels of the Chariot move ahead, as illustrated in Cancer’s tarot card. The Sun is the center of the universe and its solar energy of truth and light are now combined with Jupiter too. Decisions on home and family issues will move forward with the benefit of Jupiter’s spiritual knowledge.
Mars and Saturn come together in Scorpio on August 25th with the Sun in Virgo, who will assist with breaking through the bondage to re-evaluate your truth. Virgo, an earth sign and last house in the lower half of the zodiac, will feel the pull of Neptune on the 29th of August as these two opposite energies come together for their yearly reunion. Virgo reminds us of practical thinking, and Neptune opens us up to higher truths as we look at the past. The month’s end is marked with the Moon, Mars, and Saturn in Scorpio, which allows the excess baggage of the past to be released.
Jupiter, the symbol of rotation in the tarot, is magnified in the sign of Leo. The theme of Leo brings us courage, strength and a search for truth and love. The “Strength” tarot card represents Leo: he opens many doors to suggestion by our subconscious mind and, at the same time, our conscious mind is digesting.
Rudolph Steiner wrote of the Sun and its’ source of energy in Mysteries of the Sun: “The Sun is a mere reflection which cannot radiate light itself, but throws it back. The truth is that in the spiritual sense, light streams out from the planets Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury, Venus and the Moon. The planets radiate light to the Sun and it becomes a reflector.” Harvest time is quickly approaching as the daylight hours begin to grow shorter and it is the time to reflect on what is most important to us. We are like the sun – a reflector of light from the planets from within our being. Just as the myth of Apollo explains how to direct the solar power of truth and love, we can use this month’s energy of Jupiter as it enters Leo to do the same.
May you experience love and joy in your life each day,
