On this glorious day of Suns, Stars, and Moons
Cardinals soar swiftly by
Red streaks that flit across the cloudless indigo blue sky
Pairs of lovers
Singing the song of passion and contentment
Filling our ears with sweet tweets of love and joy

Defying gravity
With innate skill and deft confidence

And carefully scoop the earth for their protective hutches
With meticulous detail and focused skill
Readying for the coming of their young
They honor all
