Angel Seraphiel

Living
with the
Angels

with Angela McGerr

by Diane M. Cooper

Angela McGerr came with us on our journey to the Yucatan last March — and made sure throughout our trip that we knew the angels were there with us.

During the long bus rides, Angela patiently and tirelessly gave personal readings and answered questions for all who wished to know more about the angels and her work with them. She is our very own "Angel Lady."

Her book and the cards that go with it are very beautiful, both visually and in their descriptions of the angelic assistance they help us to contact.

Diane: How long have you been working with the angels?

Angela: I received my wake-up call in 1999 during the eclipse of the Sun. I was just beginning my path and was taking a Tera Mai Reiki-Seichem class. My teacher had said that the angels were there to help and that we could call on Raphael, the Angel of Healing, to help us. She also said that if the angels were trying to give you a message about your spirituality, very often you would find a little white feather.

As I left the room, I looked down on the ground, and there was a little white feather. I picked it up and that became my very first lesson.

Diane: What was your religious background prior to this?

Angela: I was brought up in the Church of England. I wasn't a churchgoer. I did believe in God and the power of Spirit, but it wasn't really part of my life.

Diane: Had you had any interactions with angels?

Angela: Not at all. I never really thought about it until all this started. All I can say is that I might have said a prayer and might have asked God to guide me, but I wasn't psychic or connected with the angels in any way — although I always felt I was intuitive.

After that experience with the feather I began to think and study both ancient and modern books about angels. The more I studied the more fascinated I became.

I was meditating as well and it was the first time I felt that I was receiving guidance. At first I thought I was making it all up, but after a while I started seeing the angels in my meditations and trusted that they were guiding me in what they wanted me to do.

Then Synchronicity started to happen. I began finding more books and research materials. I was guided to the Essene teachings, which talked about belief in the harmonization of the physical and spiritual self through communing with angels daily. That's when I discovered that angels rule the days, and that each angel is concerned with a different aspect of our life which can be focused upon for healing on a daily basis.

Diane: Do you find that whether we know about it consciously or not, the angels help us regardless?

Angela: Up to a point. But I also understand they are not allowed to intervene. We do have to invite them. They are here as messengers of the Creator, but unless it is an exceptional circumstance we do actually have to ask them to help.

Diane: You mentioned that they are here to deliver the messages of the Creator. What does that mean exactly? What do you feel the Creator is trying to communicate to us.

Angela: I think that "Creator" is too difficult a concept for us to grasp. Many of us can't picture the Creator, and He is many things to many people.

Angel PhuelHowever, it seems to be easier somehow to picture the concept of a messenger between the Creator and ourselves. In other words, it is easier for us to picture an angel than it is to picture God. I feel the angels are pure Love and pure Light and are expressing the Creator in an accessible form.

For instance, there is an angel for every day of the week. So if you understand that the angel of today (Thursday) is Zadkiel, and that he can help you with abundance and wisdom and so on, then if you happen to be working with those issues in your life, Thursday would be the day that is most powerful.

Every day has different angels and different focus points. Tomorrow (Friday) I can focus my meditations on Haniel for Love, Beauty, and Compassion. So instead of making a blanket request, "angels please help me," I can be thinking of an aspect I may wish to address in my life, and on that angel's day, call on that angel for specific, focused help.

So if you are working on abundance, you could work on it on Thursday, calling on Zadkiel. You could light a candle and add a bit of lapis lazuli. Each thing adds a little more power to the intention.

Diane: Please go over the angels of the week and their attributes.

Angela: I normally start with Monday.

Gabriel is the Angel of Monday, and his planet is the moon. Gabriel assists with Hopes, Dreams, Aspirations and Inspiration on this life path. He helps also with the balance of feminine energy and intuition. So if you are really stuck on your life path, then it might be good to do a moon meditation. If the full moon falls on a Monday then that is even more powerful. But every Monday you can simply ask Gabriel to help with this particular area of life.

Tuesday is the day of Camael, the angel of Courage and Justice. If you feel that life has treated you in a hard way, Camael can help to empower you through Forgiveness — especially with circumstances related to injustice.

Michael is the angel of Wednesday. Michael rules the planet Mercury. He brings strength and protection and also the sword of truth. He is linked also with the throat chakra. He cuts away falsehood and brings us to our personal truth.

On Thursday, Zadkiel is for Abundance, Wisdom, and Kindness. If you ask Zadkiel to bring you abundance, he also brings integrity. Another gift of Zadkiel concerns retrieval of ancient wisdom so you can do more readily what you agreed to do in this life.

On Friday, Haniel is the angel of Love, Beauty, and Compassion. She rules the planet Venus and her colors are pink and green, the personal heart and the higher heart of unconditional love. You have to heal the personal heart to get to the higher heart, so Haniel helps with both aspects. She also helps us to love ourselves.

Saturday's angel is Cassiel, the angel of Peace, Harmony, and Serenity. Cassiel helps us to find serenity after sorrow and light after the dark night of the soul.

The angel of Sunday is Raphael, angel and ruler of the Sun. He is the bringer of healing and is charged with making the Earth a fit place to dwell. He is the angel of both the healer and those needing to be healed. He is linked with the third chakra — the power of will and mind.

That's only an introduction to the first seven angels. What I've found in my research is that there are angels for all situations — literally thousands of angels. My research also has led me to the Law of Three, which is why at the beginning of my book I say to use the name of each angel three times.

The book I am referring to is called A Harmony of Angels, and basically describes all seven planetary angels and how to start inviting them in. It also contains an alphabetical list of over a hundred other special angels that we can learn to call upon in our lives, to help ourselves and our loved ones.

Diane: You said that there are thousands of angels. In what kinds of books are these talked about?

Angela: Well, one of the books I was lent in 1999 was the Dictionary of Angels by Gustav Davidson. It contains hundreds if not thousands of named angels. The sources in his bibliography run to 44 pages. I researched some of his sources to check his accuracy. It proved itself, and I came to trust his information.

I then continued researching for a year. The writings by Thoth guided me into the energy of the names themselves and also the importance of the Sacred Law of Three. I meditated to get the actual invocation I teach to people.

Diane: What would an invocation sound like?

Angela: It could sound like this... "Haniel, Haniel, Haniel... please be with me now to bring Love, Beauty, and Compassion, in Love and Light, Love and Light, Love and Light.

On one occasion I was meditating and I was asking the angels how I could show people they existed if they couldn't actually be seen. They said to call on them and they would come.

So if you close your eyes, and invoke the angels, you will feel a tingling or warmth in your hands or somewhere in your body.

Diane: So invoking is actually using the vibration of your voice, which we know is extremely powerful, to call in a particular angel and to ask them to descend on you, so to speak?

Angela: Yes. If you call on an angel, you will feel a response. My response may be different from yours, but you will begin over time to recognize which angel is there.

Diane: You said earlier that the angels are waiting to help us. Is this their overall purpose?

Angela: Yes. I think the angels are here to give us loving support for our highest good. I often ask for strength, or the right words, or for courage. One day if you're in your office and you need patience, for instance, you can ask and the angels will come.

I do suggest that people ask in a quiet moment and get the benefits of meditation. But the angels can be called upon at any time of the day for help and comfort.

Diane: Do you find that they answer immediately? Are they just there waiting to help?

Angela: Yes. They are outside space and time as we understand it and they are multi-locational.

Communing with the angels can become a way of life that benefits all living things around you. I often ask for help for my loved ones, my world, the animals and birds in my garden — everything can benefit from this interrelationship.

Diane: How can we use your book in conjunction with your Angel Cards?

Angela: The book introduces the philosophy for people who want to know about inviting angels in on a daily basis. The cards make it so a person can interact with the angels and get personal messages and guidance from them.

The angels are trying to make themselves known, and an easy way to hear what they have to say is to do a small reading with the cards. You can use them to answer a specific question or just to draw one card to get the name of the specific angel who will help you. You will always get a strong message and an angel to invoke.

Diane: If you could say there was an overall message that the angels had for humanity what would it be?

Angela: I believe they would say that the only thing that is really important is Love and Light. Those are the most powerful forces in the universe. The angels are the embodiment of Love and Light and they are here to help mankind to harmonize and arrive at peace and harmony.

Just think, if everyone had inner peace and harmony, how much happier life would be!

The angels are here to help with this. They live to serve us and await our call.

MichaelAngela McGerr is the author of A Harmony of Angels and Angelic Abundance. To assist people in contacting messages from the angels, she also has created the "Harmony Angel Cards." Her Harmony of Angels book and the cards are available in the MaatShop.

Here are two of the Angel Cards:

MICHAEL — Angel Ruler of Wednesday, Mercury and 4th Heaven. Michael is believed to hold the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven. Often pictured with a sword and cloak, he is chief warrior in the cause of Light against Dark. His sword pierces the darkness with the light of Truth, and his cobalt blue cloak protects from negative enrgy. He brings strength, patience and calmness to help you manage the crises of everyday life. Michael asks if you have something within you that you wish to release; if so, you can ask his assistance to cut it away. He then sends cobalt blue to fill and heal any void created, helping to prevent the problem from returning. You may also need his support to rid yourself of old programming and thought patterns.

As angel of Truth, he points out its different aspects. There is the freedom to speak and hear truth in a daily context — to be true to oneself. Use sapphire or topaz to assist with clarity of communication. There is also the ultimate Truth which is found by taking the spiritual path of Love and Light. He suggests mysterious Labradorite for spirituality and asks if you feel ready to make this journey, offering the shining light of his sword to illuminate your way.

Angel ZurielZURIEL — Angel of September and the Zodiac Sign of Libra, for issues of straightforwardness, balance and conformity (also linked to the physical and emotional aspects of Solar chakra, particularly those involving kidneys and hips). This is the card for those who, as the scales imply, seek balance in all things. You are a lover of beauty and harmony and you try to avoid anything that does not conform to your standards. This desire to look always at both positive and negative aspects extends to relationships in your work and private life, and although you are straightforward in many ways, you will do anything to avoid quarrels and dysfunctional situations, sometimes making matters worse in the long run. Use rose quartz or tourmaline to promote balanced relationships and to heal quarrels.

However, you may have so much need to retain your balance in life that whenever something new occurs you weigh the pros and cons endlessly, failing to make necessary decisions. If this applies to you, Zuriel points out that you are missing out on certain experiences, because you take too much account of your second (and even third) thoughts. As a result of your prevarication your life may be even but also empty and lacking fulfillment. Fill one scale with love and allow the other to balance through experience. You will encounter ups and downs, but the one will bring greater appreciation of the other.
