Spirit of Ma'at: "Music of the Spheres" — Vol 3, No 3 with Andrea Arrowsmith by Celeste Adams
Andrea Arrowsmith says that she is not a scholar, philosopher or musicologist. The perspective that she holds on the Music of the Spheres comes from her own personal experiences.
Although Andrea has been hearing-impaired since birth, she hears the Music of the Spheres and the music that radiates from all things. She can see angels reflecting the color of the sounds they sing. And she can play all this on her keyboards. For Andrea, creation is an octave where Sound and Light are the same energy, measured in different wavelengths. Light prisms break into seven major color groups, as octaves break into seven major tones. She explains that it all comes from the AUM: the universal force field. The sounds of the Divine Mother — the voice of harmony in the Music of the Spheres — and the Divine Father — Light — merged all things in Love during the birth process of Creation. I recently received a CD of my Soul Song, recorded by Andrea at her Inner Sounds of Light Institute. She describes it as a kind of "portrait in sound," made of sacred patterns. Andrea believes that when the soul takes on form, its perfection resonates in one of the twelve keys of the diatonic scale. The different keys signal the differences in our spiritual qualities. Andrea's music is so uplifting and etheric that it transports you to realms of pristine beauty and light. During her concert tours, there have been angel voices and angel sightings. Recordings contain notes that were not played. Angels have formed in cloud shapes over her concerts, and voices have come out of the speakers when the electricity was off. There have been spontaneous healings. Her music erases discord, allowing perfect patterns to occur on Earth. Andrea explains that when we have inner harmony, "the mind quickly comprehends what the soul wishes you to know, see, and be." There are three components of Andrea's music, including the Music of the Spheres, Angelic Choirs, and individual tones or keynotes of people, planets, minerals, plants, inner worlds, beings, and celestial realms such as astral and Heaven worlds. Celeste: How did you first hear the Music of the Spheres? Andrea: One spring day while hiking the Pacific Northwest mountains, I heard chords coming from nature in the same pattern of thirds that I had been playing to God in the Highest as prayer. It was identical to what I had played as a child. I reverently asked each thing I saw — the snow, the stream, the forest, moss and sky — to allow me to hear its tone, and each one's tone graciously vibrated in my inner ear the moment I prayed. Years later, when reading about Pythagoras for the first time, it dawned on me that his teachings were about the music I experienced within. I recognized the chords in nature to be the same chord patterns as the music wafting continuously from Creation levels of heavenly spheres that I hear while I meditate. The stars truly are a symphony of the spheres. Their chord-like harmony of thirds sustains and shapes creation out of the substance of the Divine Love with the power of three times three times three that is known in Christianity as the Trinity. It is the Triune Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I fully believe that if the harmony of this heavenly music were suddenly released on Earth, there would be such an explosion of beauty and joy that God consciousness would raise Earth and mankind into instant perfection. Celeste: How would you describe the Music of the Spheres? Andrea: The harmony of the Music of the Spheres condensed into the human octave is a passageway for Love to manifest on Earth. Each individual sends universal Love both ways: outwards and inwards. If the refined vibrations of harmony can be established by people in their environments, the Divine Mother can move through Earth to love, nurture, and create balance. The harmony needed for that is magnified a thousandfold through groups. Universal concert with the Music of the Spheres, the Angelic Choirs, and keynotes of Soul Songs all pave the way for the ascent of humanity into the Christ-mind vibration, and condense this vibration so the descent of the Holy Hierarchy into the Earth can be made easier. Harmonic music for the God in all Faiths, the keynotes, Angelic Choirs, Music of the Spheres, and Soul Songs all help merge Heaven and Earth. Celeste: How did the Music of the Spheres come into being? Andrea: To me, Love is the God in All Faiths that our common Parents, Father Light/Consciousness and Mother Sound/Manifestation create us with and return us to. Their child, Creation, is the body of God given life through the Divine Mother. She manifests creation through the Maha Shakti, the power of Sound, the AUM. The Divine Mother begins her manifestations when thought-prayer is sent to God in the Highest. Our Divine Mother takes the form of sound that cycles the filaments of light from a thousand suns, from the first motion of all the universes, through the human soul into birth and back. She sustains the Love that maintains Father Light/Consciousness in her children. Abiding permanently in the heart of each child, she herself is the embodiment of Aum, which is the sound of the unmanifest becoming manifest. Mother Divine, Primal Cause, unfolds the promise of Christ, the individual God Person, throughout the entire span of Creation until the exact moment of birth. The Divine Mother is the voice of harmony in the Music of the Spheres that attracts the senses inwardly toward the Divine Father/Light as subtle sound. She also is sound from the gross physical that leads us within — the sound that enters the ears. When the audible sounds of Divine Mother's Love, whether sung, uttered, or instrumental, enter the ear at the time of death, they guide the soul's upward passage into the Light of the Father through the subtle vibration of the vital air known as "prana." The soul is the chamber where both audible and inaudible sound harmonize as One Symphony of Love. We are but instruments for the soul. Celeste: Have you done much reading on Pythagoras and the history of the Music of the Spheres? Andrea: Scholastic answers to what the Music of the Spheres consist of may be found in many volumes written since 500 BC. That was when the initiate Pythagoras the Greek intuited a cosmology that categorized everything from plants, minerals, atoms, people, planets, and universes into tone intervals and mathematical equivalents. Pythagoras was a clairaudient and clairsentient initiate who heard inner music and started each day with a prayer in song. Stories abound of Pythagorean initiate musicians who calmed wild beasts and ruled unruly crowds simply by playing their lyres. My knowledge of the Music of the Spheres comes mostly from my own experiences. It seems as though the music comes from beyond myself sometimes, yet I know it is also inside the cellular life of our bodies, much the same as electricity is everywhere even if you cannot see it. I connect the Music of the Spheres more to nature, and the higher music to God's Creation levels. The keynotes that resonate through the soul simultaneously synchronize human consciousness with the natural harmony existing in Heavens and nature. Celeste: What qualities do people need to hear the Music of the Spheres? Andrea: I cannot tell what qualities people need. I know of other composers who hear them. Some are aware only of the Angelic Choirs. Others may be aware of certain cosmic sounds of the music. Personal motives for playing the music are important. It seems to me that one must be deeply moved by the music, have a reverence for life, and an inborn spirituality and love and a desire to be of service to others. People tell me they have heard the Music of the Spheres right before falling asleep. During prayer and meditation, one man heard them while walking across a playing field at night; he thought it was coming from a room in a nearby school building. My aunt heard them through a faucet while she was running bath water. Several people who have had near-death experiences told me they heard this music. Maybe as people drop their separate sense of self and embrace the spiritual reality of life they will hear the Music of the Spheres or the chorus of angels that sing in praise to the Creator. Celeste: How have you been able to overcome your limited abilities to hear sound? How has that affected the kind of music that you create? Andrea: Some people think because I'm nearly deaf, it's a miracle I play any instrument! No one knew how bad my hearing was, because I taught myself to read and lip-read before I started kindergarten. With the aid of the lip reading, I studied classical piano for twelve years. Since the age of five, I have played the Music of the Spheres as a means of prayer and devotion to God. So I've been developing music as prayer for more than fifty years. In 1993, an angel appeared to help me play and pray for others. If I can't hear sounds or don't know what I should play next, the angel points out the right keys. I also have the gift of hearing inner sounds of angelic choruses and keynotes of people, plants, animals, elements of nature, elementals, angels, and devas. Miracles of divine guidance have come from unexpected sources, and the right people sent at the right time have helped me develop into a performer, composer, and recording artist. This legacy of music, miracles, and mysteries continues, with happenings like weather changes during performances, states of rapture, reports of consciousness expansion, and appearances from angels seen by people besides myself. Finally, an ongoing miracle of Love changes my audiences from strangers into groups of world brotherhood listening to the music I now call Triune Music. Celeste: Do you think your hearing loss helped you discover the tones that radiate from all things? In other words, do you think that was the reason you were born with a hearing loss? Andrea: My hearing loss helps me listen to the silence for the Divine to speak, and helps me hear inner tones clearly. But it's not the cause of my ability to do this. I carry this inner music through my soul's vibration. I am the music. Celeste: Why do people have such stong reactions to hearing their Soul Songs? Andrea: The harmony creates enough power so that people often cry when they hear their Soul Songs. They feel that their own soul is their true reality. Tears come with this type of experience of the Supreme Self. That brings understandings, such as the understanding that the heavenly Presence is hidden within all forms, and that nothing is devoid of Love, consciousness, virtue, or value. The spiritual experiences during my concerts and through my recordings challenge explanation. In the Soul Song demonstrations during my concerts, we all see clearly that the true nature of every individual's God Self is so beautiful and pure that it defies words. Musical pitches and their octaves are not just tones; they conduct the pure and perfect qualities of God consciousness. Qualities like goodwill, steadfastness, lovingness, peace, and cooperation. These vary in each individual and are strengthened by harmonic music and harmony in relationships. I think the Divine sent this music to Earth as a tool so people during this time-frame could know what Heaven feels like. People talk a lot about God, peace, and harmony, but they need to be able to feel it. For peace and goodwill to be a certainty in the future, stewardship of Earth needs to be in the hands of men and women who not only accept the qualities of God they have in themselves but can recognize the same things in their surroundings. When people know for sure what peace and goodwill feels like, they can build a new civilization on that foundation. We could live under the banner: One World under God as Love, with Liberty and Justice for All. Celeste: Are there as many soul tones as there are individuals on this planet? Andrea: Sound is a wave, it's not flat. To ask about how many tones there are is like asking how many shades of green there are. When we say "green," we think of a flat color like the green on a color chart. Yet when we look at nature, we see hundreds of shades of green: the greens of evergreen trees, moss, maple leaves, bird feathers, grasses, seawater. . . Musical tones are the same. In the West we use a chromatic one-eighth interval between tones, while Pythagorean musicians used the 1.4-tone diatonic scale. Other cultures use other scales. God knows how many tones there are. My engineer, John, once demonstrated in a studio how he could slide tones to in-between tones in an unending array. An overall harmony does more for people to bring balance than one tone. All tones have higher and lower octaves. The higher octaves resonate more in the higher chakras, around the head, and the lower octave tones resonate more in the base chakras. Tones go up and down cosmic scales and fade into sounds that cannot be heard by human ears. There are tones made by devas, initiatory bell sounds, and tones of consciousness levels. There also are roar-like lion tones and sounds like thunder and explosions on levels that are inaudible to the human ear. Celeste: What does the Angelic Choir sound like? Andrea: The voices of angelic beings are constantly singing praise to God in the Highest. The Music of the Spheres is not exactly instrumental, but it seems to be more instrumental than vocal. The angelic choruses — there are nine of them — sing the thirds, which is the same harmonics as the Music of the Spheres. The Music of the Spheres and the Angelic Choirs are in harmony with one another. Sometimes, devas or angels solo. Sometimes, a violin, harp, or trumpet will solo. Basically, harmony sustains all Creation. Celeste: What was your first experience with the Angelic Choir? Andrea: It happened in the mid-1970s, following a particularly holy Christmas season. In one meditation, I heard Angelic Choirs for the first time. During this meditation, I went to a field as clear as glass, with a living fluid substance that shimmered like crystal before the sun. I believe what I saw was the ethers that connect all realms. I heard glorious sounds of Angelic Choirs far more exquisite than any earthly choir. I remained enraptured in the shimmering ethers, assimilating the heavenly sounds. An effervescent stream of joy overflowed from within me into my surroundings. After the meditation, I went on a bus to downtown Seattle for a dentist appointment. I walked through a square at 4th and Pine, which used to be the home for large flocks of pigeons. The pigeons were usually fed by this one lone fellow who let them land all over his body. The square was deserted except for these pigeons looking for food. I walked through them in a state of rapture from the music, feeling the Presence of God, the Holy Mother, and Jesus. As I walked, the flock of pigeons slowly formed concentric circles in rows around me until I was in the center and could not move. Once I was in the center, as if on cue, they all turned and marched in clockwise rows in a circle around me. One flew up and landed on my finger. That seemed like the Holy Spirit coming to me in the form of a dove. The street was deserted except for two women who stood and watched this happening. When one of them asked if I had anything to feed the pigeons, the "spell" was broken, and the pigeons returned to normal. I continued on to my appointment, and afterward I bought some birdseed and went back to feed the pigeons. As they flew all over my body while I fed them, I was hoping all birds would fly to me forever — but it only happens on rare occasions. I knew the Angelic Choirs I'd heard earlier were radiating a concentric circular spiral through me into a pattern the birds automatically formed. The rapture continued for days. I heard and played a choral theme on the piano, feeling like Handel praising the King of Kings with his Hallelujah Chorus. Someday, I will write down the music I heard then. Since that experience, I have no doubt that unseen Angelic Choirs have an effect on cells and nature patterns. Celeste: Do you believe that we can bring the Earth back into balance through sound? Andrea: If each person on Earth focused on God as Love and prayed for balance and for the good of all, that would set up the thought tone that would bring balance. Earth's tone is off balance. Common sense will tell you that. I read a newspaper article saying Earth's rotation had slowed and this was affecting the other planets orbiting our sun. Universal concert depends on planetary synchronicity. Pythagoras noted that as various planets reached differing positions orbiting the sun, their tone changed. When Earth's revolution slows, its tone affects the solar system, just as one instrument off key would ruin a symphony. Celeste: Do you believe that Angelic Choirs were ever heard on Earth? Andrea: I have no doubt that Angelic Choirs were heard on Earth when Christ was born, just as Milton said. When there is enough harmony and purity in the environment, Angelic Choirs precipitate on Earth as they do in the Heavens. Three of us proved this once, during a Soul Song concert at a Washington resort on Crystal Mountain. I will tell you that story. We had remained in the room because one woman, Nan, wanted a Soul Song after the rest of the group had left. She was a woman with beautiful, thick, silver hair, and she could really sing. Earlier, she and I had had fun belting out old songs in the kitchen while washing dishes. Now, we spontaneously sang wordless harmony during her Soul Song. As I played, all three of us started to sing in the spirit. The energies rose higher and higher. Soon, five more voices joined us — though no one else had entered the room! Angels were singing, and we all heard them. I lost all sense of time and was barely aware of my body. Not one of us will ever forget the holiness. It was a precipitation, a merging of Heaven on Earth. And we three witnessed it together. Celeste: How can people contribute to the harmony of the Music of the Spheres? Andrea: I love this question, because it brings an opportunity to mention the beautiful truth that a human being's thought ushers Heaven's harmony of the Music of the Spheres into the Earth's atmosphere. Whenever one thinks or feels love, kindness, or purity, their thoughts reach the higher levels through their tones, electrically, and attract Heaven to Earth magnetically. That's why Jesus said, "Heaven is within." Heaven is truly within our consciousness, and so is music. On another level, I have seen that tinkly, silver bells ring when someone thinks a pure thought. When I watch these silver bells ring, it is like a soft, gentle breeze blowing through wind chimes. And in a flash, I know it is the pure thought of someone on Earth that has caused this to happen. Every thought we think is accompanied by music. Once, I demonstrated Soul Songs to a well-known minister in Bellevue, Washington. He had requested to hear his Soul Song. Afterward, he told all of us he remembered hearing the music I played while he was being born. Harmonious sounds keep our chakra and nervous systems in balance. Loud noises and discordant sounds, such as some rock music, machinery, metal clanging, or explosions, can shatter the veils of the chakras, just as drugs, smoking, and certain medicines do. Celeste: I know that you feel a sense of urgency about spreading the word about Triune Music. How can music contribute to world peace? Andrea: Around Earth, discordant sounds and thoughts of humanity have made a dense haze, a cacophony of sound that blocks the free-flowing conduction of harmony from higher levels. Higher angelic beings and masters need the light and harmonious sounds of music — Love — to pass freely from one level to another. And ascending members of humanity need to have a harmonic vibration rate in which to meet the ascended beings. I think the amount of harmony in sound and music can either create or destroy whole civilizations. My whole purpose in pioneering the inner harmony of Triune Music, the Music of the Spheres, Angelic Choirs, and Soul Songs is to demonstrate to everyone how harmony of music with the thought of God in the Highest — no matter how one conceives of that — is in itself the power of peace.
