Oil of Metal — Plant Alchemy
By Julia Griffin
We begin by taking raw antimony ore stibnite and crushing it.
Then the ore is calcined repeatedly at first its black color remains.
Slowly a red hue appears in the ore. But the ore is still as a an uncooked meat and not fit for use in any alchemical work.
The red hue grows more distinct and is a sign of the ore nearing completion.
Finally the ore becomes a light grey and our work of calcination is almost done.
When the ore reaches a light beige color to white is is ready for the next stage of the work.
