Creature Poker

This is a story about creatures. Creatures that play ... professional poker!!! Now, to tell you about the poker players: First, there is a gray bulldog who's name is Drooly (who drools) and smokes cigars. Then there is a little cat called Shortstuff. Don't mess with her, she'll knock your block off. Some people say that she was a pampered house pet that got everything that she wanted, but something went terribly wrong and she ran away. Finally there is a pig name Snorty. He has a very bad temper. He has very little stubs on the top of his head.

These creatures plan to become very rich from all their gambling, and then to send it to charity to save the rain forest.

The bad guys in the story, are a fox, and two clumsy cats. The fox's' name is Sly, while the other two are called dodo and sidestep. Sly is a white fox with black whiskers. He's actually quite handsome. Dodo is an orange cat that has white feet. Sidestep is a very dim-witted cat that is black with a white belly.

The creatures and the Flame Boys (the bad guys) play every night together. The creatures usually lose. One night they were losing badly until Drooly noticed that the Flame Boys were exposing Ace cards from within their torn up jacket sleeves. THEY WERE CHEATING!

Drooly was about to expose them, but then he got a better plan. Drooly called a time out... He told Shortstuff and Snorty. They were about to explode with anger, but then Drooly told them his plan.

Drooly knew he had to beat them at their own game, and he knew just who to call on for help... The Poker Shark! The Poker Shark was not a shark at all. He was a mouse!!

The plan was that The Shark [mouse] would sneak up into the Flame Boys' torn up jacket sleeves without them noticing, and like a shark, devour the hidden ace cards.

The Shark did the plan, and when the Flame Boys reached for their hidden aces, they were gone!! The plan worked and the Creatures won fair and square. And then they sent their winnings off to the rain forest.

Gabriel Molina is ten years old and lives in Long Beach, California.

He has a 17 year old brother and a 14 year old sister. Gabriel currently lives with 7 cats (at one time he had 11 cats!) and one dearly loved Hamster. Gabriel loves to dance and sing. He loves to play the piano and he loves to cook. His favorite subjects in school are science and Phys Ed. He is good at basketball, soccer, and has just started to enjoy baseball.
