Pluto and the Apocalypse

While thinking over what to write for this month's issue, my mind was set on saying something new about 'New Beginnings'. Knowing that the topic has been rehashed and trivialized in countless ways, I wanted to do something different. With my frame of reference strongly influenced by my astrological leanings it hit me that the planet Pluto, which as been in Sagittarius since 1995, will begin its passage through the sign Capricorn on January 26th, 2008. "This is perfect", I thought. "A big, transformational planet starting over again in a whole new sign — I can use that milestone as a jumping off place for all kinds of thoughts".

On the day the Pluto idea came up I was sitting at my desk, surrounded by piles of papers and books, wondering how to approach it. Collecting my thoughts, I lit up a cigarette waiting for the first words to form when my eye caught the glint of a metallic, orange notebook that seemed to beg me to open it. Inside I found notes that were written while I was on the road with Slim Spurling — and two scraps of paper that I had completely forgotten about. In a moment of procrastination, distracted by memories of my friend, I picked up the two loose papers and began to read them. As it turns out, the trip down memory lane was a gift — because what was written on those pages provided me with the inspiration for this article.

When Slim was alive, he and I spent hours talking about anything and everything several times a day. Our conversations went all over the place, but mostly we talked about God, and gravity, and the physics and metaphysics of Zero-Point. Slim turned every discussion into an opportunity to talk about the life force and we'd go back and forth, armed with the conviction that if we talked long enough, we'd figure out what it was all about. We never got to the bottom of things, but there were times when we came pretty close.

What I have to share with you this month was inspired by a conversation that took place while Slim and I were driving from Denver to Santa Fe. I don't remember exactly how it started — as I recall we were looking at the rock formations lining Route 25 and Slim got to talking about alchemy, and about how gold precipitates out of the ether. When I asked him would it be true that everything comes from the ether, he went off on a tangent that blew me away — so I grabbed some paper out of my purse and wrote it all down. Here's what he had to say:

"We focus on what we can see and we think everything comes from that. But it's what we can't see that forms what our senses tell us is real. If we understood more about the invisible forces that operate behind the world of form, we would discover that nothing is scarce — and that it is out of the ether that absolutely everything is created. This is why what we call 'Magic' works".

"Basically, everything comes out of nothing — and whatever 'nothing' is, our thoughts appear to stir it. But all thought emanates from the ether too — the mind doesn't source our thought processes — it is only a receiving mechanism that is calibrated to be receptive (or not) to what comes from the invisible. One's level of receptivity to these frequency sets that vibrate continuously at the etheric level depends on the attunement we were born with, the primary coding in our DNA (or the tree's DNA, the rock's DNA, the cat's DNA — every living thing receives this energy). Our own personal, unique wavelength, which is determined by a combination of our genetic heritage, the space we occupy, and whatever our programming may have been, most likely decides the extent to which we will be receptive to these omnipresent frequency sets."

"There will be moments when our personal frequency sets will intersect with the wavelengths of thought coming out of the ether. At those points, or nodes of intersection, regardless of the dictates of our primary coding, we can become receptive to the IN-Formation coming from the universe. So what exists as a frequency IN-Forms it self in our consciousness and in those moments, whatever we download creates the space for us to expand into something new. This is why it's a misconception to think that so-and-so will never change. And because everything is ordered, it is possible that by some means (astrological, biorhythmic etc.) those points of receptivity to whatever we are being IN-Formed with can be predicted."

"All of the major astrological transits and progressions are in reality points where our personal coding can be altered by the presence of etheric frequency sets that are timed to open us up to an entirely new set of possibilities. The call to wake up will be heeded, or not, depending on the individual's ability to transmute whatever comes through as IN-Formation. If that call is ignored, or over ridden by the fears of the ego, the opportunity to respond to it will not recur until the aspect reforms at some predictable point in the future. If the individual is open enough to take in the new set of frequencies, a quantum leap occurs within their consciousness and they can expand beyond the limits of their personal coding, their Karma, if you will."

What Slim had to say about major astrological changes, struck the part of my brain that's been wondering what Pluto's entrance into Capricorn really means for us. According to his way of seeing things this transit is about to IN-Form us with markedly different frequencies — and if we are receptive to those vibrations, our primary coding will be infused with new thought forms that will alter our perceptions of who we are in the world. To better understand what this could mean for us, it might help to look at what happened the last time Pluto entered the sign, Capricorn.

With an orbital cycle of approximately 275 years, Pluto hasn't been in this region of space since 1733. The history books tell us that the seeds of the American Revolution were planted around that time. It was then that our country declared its independence from the British crown and established what everyone thought would be a democracy. Playing its usual trick, over time the Law of Polarity managed to turn one thing into its opposite. 275 years later, we are faced with the fact that what evolved out of the desire for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness became a tightly controlled, Fascist dictatorship.

It is safe to assume that the revolutionary spirit that followed Pluto into its last journey through Capricorn will be part of this next go-round. These new frequency sets will move us to re-examine our relationship to authority, in all its ramifications. Astrological sources bear this out. Every good astrology book will tell you that whenever Pluto enters Capricorn, what we are charged with transforming is our relationship to, and our beliefs about, the whole concept of "who's in charge here?"

Examining that question from a long-term perspective, one could say that for the past 13,000 years, the Male frequency has been in charge of everything. It was the masculine force that held everything steady during our passage through the dark half of the universal cycle. At the tail end of that cycle it is clear that the Male force has reached extremes of expression that make it seem as if our authority exists outside of us. Over time, the strength and protective energy that is intrinsic to this polarity went so far beyond the pale it morphed into total dominance. Like a father who is so overly protective of his children he decides to maintain control of his fears by forcing them to abide by strict rules, our Spirits have been locked up by the Illuminati, the governments, the 'system', and by religious and educational constructs that deny the Higher Self and promote the idea that God exists 'out there' somewhere, separate from us.

The ultimate side effects of placing our authority outside of our selves have rendered us impotent against forces that have taken their power to the extreme — or so it seems. My hunch is that when Pluto begins its passage through Capricorn, (a transit that will be active till 2024) new frequency sets will open the space for us to consider that our real power, and true authority lies within.

It will be interesting to see how all of this comes down. Pluto isn't one to suffer fools. When it's in Capricorn, the fools that it refuses to suffer are the ones with all the power. Anyone who holds power and isn't using it to serve the greater good will be brought to their knees by this transit. Anyone who clings to the beliefs that the power possessors have systematically programmed us with will be charged with reconnecting with their own Truth and have to re-learn how to abide by it, instead of conforming to artificial law. The lies that have held us in bondage will all be exposed and when that happens all of the books will have to be rewritten and so will our history — because we have been living in darkness since the fall of Atlantis and everything we have been led to believe is false.

Try to imagine what will erupt when these new frequency sets demand that the leaders of the world become accountable for their actions. How do you suppose all of that will play out? If what goes around, comes around, George Bush and Dick Cheney and the rest of the Illuminati pawns won't have a prayer. What will happen when every man, woman and child wakes up and realizes that they have been at the mercy of systematic agendas and false belief systems that have done nothing but hold them in bondage? The ones who don't go into a state of cognitive dissonance, will be so pissed off God knows what form their anger will take. And what will happen when the ancient Truths reveal themselves to have absolutely nothing to do with what we've been told about our origins, our history, and our purpose for living? Think about that for a minute and see what you come up with.

It would be naive to assume that this process will be a gentle one. Anyone who thinks it will be easy isn't being realistic. Like I said, Pluto does not mess around — and Capricorn? Forget about it. He's a tough old dude who will most likely raise the bar and call all of us to live up to a much higher set of standards — real standards — ones that are born out of Truth. Our entire world is about to be rocked. The initial tremors have already started. If Mother Earth is a barometer for what's going on in the collective mind, the rising tide of quaking and shaking is a clear sign that our rebirth will be attended with some difficulty.

What does this mean for those of us who claim to understand it? As I sit here, creating the impression that I know what's going on, I wonder if I really understand it. Quite honestly, I don't have a clue. But whenever I am clueless, I go within to see if I can find one — because it's the only place I have ever found any answers. My sense is that if those of us who grasp the terror of the situation are able to hold steady and trust what comes from our Hearts, maybe some critical mass of consciousness will over ride everything else, or at least open the space for these new frequency sets to implant themselves in a positive way, rather than a negative one.

Those of us who claim to know what's going on might want to think about putting our money where our mouth is. The Blue Star that the Hopi Prophecies told us would appear right before the End Times really got rolling was sighted only a week ago. It's big enough and blue enough to be seen with the naked eye. This new celestial body is a harbinger of the Pluto shift and a sign that the Apocalypse is no longer something we can sit around and theorize about. Facing whatever the inevitable might be, it seems as if this work we've been entrusted with could be the only thing that makes a difference.

The same energies that fired off 'the shot that got heard 'round the world' are about to turn us inside out, one way or another. This time the revolution will be one of consciousness, and what we are rising up against is the idea that our authority exists out side of our selves. As we reconnect with our own Truth and begin to follow the dictates of the Higher Self it's clear to me that in the next four years, our personal and collective reality will undergo a radical transformation. How this goes, may not be up to us, but it's easier for me to think that maybe it could be.

If the new frequency sets that Slim talked about are floating around waiting to IN-Form us with whatever we need to know, our attunement to them could make a difference. On a certain level I am pretty sure Pluto will approach the current state of affairs the way it did the last time. But there's something very different going on inside all of us now. It seems quite possible that our DNA is vibrating on an octave that could make us more receptive to forms of IN-Formation that will tune us in to what we can't see and do not as yet comprehend — and what we can't see may be the key to everything. It could open us up to an entirely new set of possibilities if those of us who claim to understand these things keep refining and expanding our relationship to our inner work.

I don't know about you, but my inner work has become more important to me lately. I see my self as an instrument that wants to be tuned to play a new kind of music in a key that up till now never existed. As I zero in on how to be open to the forces that are here to transform all of us, it's as if I am learning how to metabolize starlight and the new frequency sets that are floating around with Pluto and the Blue Star — those things IN-Form me, little by little. Each tidbit awakens something that wasn't awake before, exposing possibilities that weren't there before either.

Going into my Heart and trusting what comes from within has shown me that there is more Truth to what Slim said that that day on the road to Santa Fe than I ever imagined. Our apocalyptic thoughts would be put to better use if all of us tuned our instruments to resonate with the high side of what the invisible is IN-Forming us with. We can talk about how it will all play out till the cows come home but these things are of the mind — and as we well know, the mind has only questions. The answers lie in the Heart — and the new beginnings that could evolve out of the next four years will be more likely to occur if we remember to go within and tune up, instead of down.
